KnTaq PCR Mix is a hot-start PCR premix based on recombinant KnTaq DNA polymerase. KnTaq is a truncated form of Taq DNA polymerase with a shortened N-terminal. It has 5'-3' polymerase activity but lacks 3'-5' exonuclease activity, resulting in a product with a 3' A-tail. KnTaq also lacks 5'-3' nuclease activity, and its hot-start modification offers high specificity, effectively preventing non-specific amplification. The optimized KnTaq polymerase has enhanced amplification efficiency for high GC-content and complex DNA structures. KnTaq PCR Mix is ideal for distinguishing erroneous extensions and is suitable for SNP analysis, gene typing, and allele-specific PCR.
